Designated Bike Paths
Richmond is a small enough community that it is feasible to use a bike for cross-town transportation.
The problem I find, when trying to bike commute, is that it is often a bit dangerous, since I either have to ride on sidewalks or on busy streets / thoroughfares. I often have to take back-roads and go through parking lots and alleyways to get where I need to go.
It would be really great if we had some designated bike paths, particularly on the busy roads. I know the City can't really do anything about SR 27 or SR 40, since those are the state's jurisdiction, but as roads are repaired that are city roads, maybe bike paths can be incorporated?
BikeRichmond.org has already made a great map of richmond with bike paths and routes noted -- what else can we do to make biking a more widely used form of transportation?
