Community improvement ideas for Richmond, Indiana, USA

This is a very simple idea, costs nothing, but can build awareness and connection. Have you ever noticed that when motorcycle riders pass one another....whether they know each other or not.....they do the lowered straight arm fist or open palm thing?

Well, I'm wondering if the bike riders of the town might start greeting one another. No particular "sign", just a greeting of some sort. This would include the commuters, the hard core ride in spandex crowd, and the kids just riding around. I see it as a way of saying, "I see you, and we have something in common."

My hope would be that over time, there would be less of a bike riding "class system" and thus more bike riders.
